Volunteer Work
RVASec Badge Leadership, Development and Assembly
HackRVA
Jan 2014 - Jun 2019
The RVASec badge is an embedded board that the HackRVA Makerspace makes for the RVA Security Conference annually. It adds to the education and community of members at HackRVA and RVASec provides the makerspace a donation for the work. All work on the project is volunteer and proceeds go to help fund HackRVA and it's mission. As part of the badge leadership team, I was responsible for organizing/scheduling events and maintaining the production schedule. As a developer I was responsible for applications and some system maintenance written in C. I assisted our lead engineer in the manufacture of PCBs.
Qt4 Class Instructor
HackRVA
Jul 2014 - Aug 2014
As part of an effort to help people get interested in cross platform programming and frameworks, I taught a several week intro to Qt4 with C++ course at HackRVA. Eight students worked there way through lessons plans I developed to a final project which was a cross platform C++ calculator application that could run on any computer or phone OS.
