Calibrations
CATLab Accredited Calibrations Laboratories
After getting out of the Navy I worked at a small business, control automation technologies laboratories (CATLab) as a mechanical calibration technician with specialization in pressure, moisture, flow, torque, dimension and gas detectors. I also performed some test equipment repair and automation, and software development for physics corrections for deadweight tester calibrations. CATLab was an A2LA accredited laboratory and has since been sold to TresCal.
Torque
I worked hard to help improve the toque calibration capabilities while at CATLab including building out the torque table with the gantry shown above.
Moisture
I became very familiar with moisture analysis and calibration of capacitive dewpoint sensors. We used a Michelle Instruments S4000 chilled glass mirror hygrometer.
Pressure Balances
Maintenance, repair and careful use of pressure balances was essential to keeping our measurement uncertainties low.
Software
This software suite which included many calibration tools was mainly developed for performing deadweight tester (pressure balance) corrections to achieve the lowest possible measurement uncertainty. I originally wrote this in C++ with Qt, but eventually moved to C# with .NET.
